Some Strobist info for other photographers.

I have been getting a lot of questions from other photographers about how I use my SB-800 speed lights with the Elimchrom Skyport remote radio triggers. When I started with remote flash I first used the cheap e-bay triggers but started to get frustrated with all the miss fires. Here is a mini review on the Skyports and how I hook it all up. Click the play button and then hit pause so it loads all the way and then hit play again when it has loaded.

I shot this video a while back and have used the Skyports a lot since then. I just love them.

Hope it helps.

Here are the cheap e-bay triggers I started with when I found that you could not work with the Nikon creative light system in direct sun light.

Here is how I made the cables and how I attach the Skyport to the speedlight using Velcro but not with any glue !! I hate glue on kit so this is how I did it.

Michael J Conner - I love my Elimchrom lights! Used with my Niknon D300 I don’t need the Skyports! (I also have them and love them too!} On My D300 I go int the menu and choose: eBracketing flash/ e3 Flash cntrl for Built-in flash/ Commander mode/ Built in/ Group A/ and they are redy to fire directly from the Built in flash!!! Very simple and Beautiful light!!! I use them alot to do portraits. Sometimes I will use a second SB800 behind my subjects to eliminate shadows! Very effective and very easy!!January 7, 2009 – 9:25 am
