Jesus is my Hero !!!

I has come to my attention that some people in the South African photography industry do not like me for what I stand. To be honest I do not care. I do not care what people think of me because of my believes and moral values. I feel that the world needs a Hero. Jesus is my Hero and he died for me and you, just let Him into your life

Like this song from Skillet says, my Hero is living inside of me. Thank you Jesus for saving me.

Duane - I knew there was more than photography drawing me to you guys!! Way to say it proud!!June 14, 2010 – 10:48 pm

Danie - AMEN!!!!June 15, 2010 – 7:38 am

Amanda - Thanks Jaco for sharing, and it’s awesome to be standing up for The One who is fighting for our freedom [Ephesians 6:13 – 20]June 15, 2010 – 9:30 am

Val - You preach and hence stuff your belief down other people’s throats. People don’t like to be meddled with.June 15, 2010 – 11:47 am

Derek - J & D is the only studio from South Africa that has been invited ……. makes you think does it not …… Jaco, maybe people don’t like you because of arrogant statements like these, not because of your religion. Maybe, just maybe other photogs also believe in God, they just don’t feel the need to preach and belittle others on their blogs!June 15, 2010 – 5:39 pm

Jaco - Thanks all for your feedback and comments. @Val. I do not stuff my belief down anybodies throats, I do not believe in bashing somebody with a Bible. I share my joy about being a child of Jesus on my blog and in my signature on forums. Oom Angus told us at MMC that the blood of people will be on my hands if I had the chance to tell them about the Lord and I did not, it will be their choice to accept Him into their lives, I can only testify about His grace. I say what I belief in and where my talents come from nothing more.

@Derek. I am not arrogant about our success. It is a fact that we were the only studio in South Africa to be invited in the first round. I am proud about it as well as humbled and thankful. I always give God the recognition for our success as I am nothing without Him.
The last statement is from the Nedbank add from many years back, it is a iconic statement made to get the reader thinking why only J & D has been selected. I honestly do not feel that I am belittling anybody, I said that with a wink of an eye as well.
I am not here to win a popularity contest and I know I will not be popular as a result of my beliefs, but as I stated I honestly do not care what other people think of me because of it.June 15, 2010 – 6:12 pm

Wikus - Hi Jaco. Thank you for having the courage to exclaim your feelings about your religion. So many people call themselves Christians but are too “scared” to voice their feelings. If you do not like what other people say, get a grip on life – do not criticize them because you do not like their opninions. With regards to the comment by Derek – you can be proud to be the only photographer that have been invited and I see no reason why you should not tell others about it. At least you give praise to the Lord unlike so many other people that enjoy blowing their own trumpet.

Keep up the good work – I am a great fan of your work.June 21, 2010 – 9:19 am

Derrick - Jaco, you are deluding yourself. Nobody judges you because you are Christian. Many local photographers are proud Christians who say so, but people still like them. The reason other SA photographers don’t like you is because you are well-known in the industry for being arrogant and full of yourself. It has nothing to do with your religious believes. In fact, I would think that if you really Do think your talent is all down to God, you would be a lot more humble about it. Unfortunately it is your attitude that people dislike, not your religious proclamations.June 24, 2010 – 2:18 pm

Jaco - Derrick why do you say I am arrogant? On what grounds ? The fact that when we win something I talk about it ? I tried to help SA photographers, I started up a forum and shared a lot of information that I did not have to. I tried to get WPPA off the ground but when the Chairman failed to produce anything I was made out to be the witch when I asked we vote for another chairmen. I tried to get photographers to come up with their own spin on things and tried to help them where I could. Then it was said I say people may not copy me but I copy other big names like Jerry , Yervant etc . The difference is I went to a workshop and paid R50 000 each time to learn the methods from them that I use where others just took what I showed and copied it, up to the colour of the gel and the way I frame my images. I know it is great if I inspire other to do well but then put your own spin on it. When I spoke about it I was made out to be a dictator. I had enough of it and closed the forum. If you feel I am arrogant why are you reading my blog? People who really know me will tell you who I am. I was also attacked for not wanting to shoot or print same sex weddings. That is a religious decision.June 24, 2010 – 2:54 pm
