Before and After Images

Here are some samples of the postproduction work we do. Obviously you need a good image to start with but we take it to the next level in the digital darkroom. The images should still look natural but more glamorous.

David Louw - Hi
Your work is an inspiration any wedding couple is indeed fortunate to have you attend their wedding to record the event. Two questions if I may 1. How in general do you go about improving skin imperfections without running the risk of the client getting upset and getting the impression that you think their skin is not good and needs
help?
2. The shrinkage of the head, is it not too much?

Regards

Jaco - Thanks for the compliment David.
Well why do woman wear make-up? It is to enhance their natural beauty. When we enhance an image it is not because we think the person is not beautiful already. We can take the make-up to the next level and our client love us for it. It is part of our style and our clients know that before they book us as we show them in the studio what we do. That is what they pay us for when they hire us.

As for the head shrink I shot that image with a 12-24 as I wanted to get a full length shot in our studio. The lighting set-up I used made my studio a bit small so had to shoot with a wide angle as you normally don’t shoot portraits with a wide angle. It distorted the model head. I compared the image with an 85mm shot to get the correct ratio so the head is now the correct size. So just if you are wondering this person does not have such a big head ;) December 16, 2007 – 3:05 pm

Brenda - Hi there.

I’m just starting with wedding photography and one of the things I can’t manage is the lovely soft look that you get with your finished photos. Any pointers would be really appreciated.

Audrey - Until I saw the pictures you took, all the wedding picture looked the same to me. But you’ve definitely made an impact. The day of Scott and Marisa’s wedding, you were so organized, you’ve really done a wonderful job.

Well done guys.

Belinda du Toit - LOVE your work!!
Just wondering – do you give photoshop courses?
I am a very “enthusiatic-photographic-hobbiest” and would love to learn a bit more about Photoshop in practise … Photoshop for Dummies can take you only that far.January 29, 2009 – 1:11 pm
